Remote Academic Support

for the

STEM Center, Writing Center,

and the Student Success Center (and TRIO)

 

Our tutors and SI leaders will use Google Hangouts (Meet) for remote sessions.  We also will have available Zoom, Facetime, and Skype, if those platforms are preferred. Students can also reach out with specific questions via email.  On our STCC website, students can go to the Center for Online and Digital Learning (CODL) webpage (https://sites.google.com/stcc.edu/odr/home) to learn how to use these programs.

 

The Writing Center

 

• Students interested in setting up a Writing Tutor appointment should email writingcenter@stcc.edu to request an appointment. Students would reach out to let us know the days and times they are available, along with the course and professor for which the student is seeking support.

• Appointments are available Monday - Thursday, 9:00am-7:00pm, and Friday, 9:00am-3:00pm. 

• Once an appointment is made, the student and the tutor will receive an email confirmation with the tutor’s name, containing appointment details.  A Google calendar reminder will also be sent to the student and the tutor.  When the student accepts the reminder by clicking YES, a Google Hangouts link will be available to them in the calendar.  Students will use that link to meet up with their assigned tutor during the designated day and time.  Students should go to https://sites.google.com/stcc.edu/odr/home to learn about how Google Hangouts work.
